Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how Scan2Summary handles AI-powered document analysis, credits, subscriptions, stored history, and in-app account deletion.

Back to home

1. The service

Scan2Summary is designed to help users understand administrative paperwork such as government letters, municipal notices, invoices, tax-related communications, and similar real-world documents. The service may extract text, produce a structured summary, generate a simpler explanation, identify action items and deadlines, and suggest calendar reminders.

The service is intended as an informational productivity tool. It does not replace legal, tax, accounting, immigration, insurance, or other professional advice.

2. Eligibility and accounts

The service is intended for adults. If you are under the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, use the service only with permission and involvement from a parent or guardian.

The current product is guest-first. Users may begin with an anonymous session and later link an email account for more persistent access. You are responsible for keeping access to your linked email secure.

3. AI output and user responsibility

  • AI-generated explanations may be incomplete, approximate, translated imperfectly, or wrong.
  • Users must verify deadlines, payment amounts, reference numbers, filing duties, and other high-stakes outcomes before acting.
  • Calendar reminders are convenience features only. Users remain responsible for meeting real deadlines.
  • You must not rely on the service as your sole source for urgent or legally binding decisions.

4. Credits, subscriptions, and purchases

The current API contract states that one document page consumes one credit. If a document contains multiple pages, each page may consume one credit as part of a single analysis request.

The current project also models welcome grants, monthly subscription credits, one-time credit packs, promo grants, reversals, refunds, and optional rewarded credits. Product availability may vary by platform, territory, and release stage.

  • Subscriptions may renew automatically through the relevant app store unless canceled there.
  • One-time credit packs are consumable unless the store listing or applicable law says otherwise.
  • Credits, grants, and promotional balances may expire or change according to the plan shown in the app.
  • Store terms, platform billing rules, taxes, and refund rules may apply in addition to these terms.

5. Stored analyses, deletion, and support

The current product structure includes server-stored analyses and history access. That means results may remain available after an analysis finishes so users can reopen them later, manage history, or report issues.

Users may delete analyses where the app exposes that action and can delete their account directly in the app. If they cannot access the app, support can help verify ownership and assist with deletion. Some minimal records may be retained where required for billing, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service to violate law, infringe rights, or submit content you do not have the right to process.
  • Do not attempt to probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or abuse the service or its billing flows.
  • Do not use the service to process documents for unlawful surveillance, identity theft, fraud, or harassment.
  • Do not misrepresent AI output as official advice from a public authority or licensed professional.

7. Availability, disclaimers, and limitation of liability

The service may change, pause, or become unavailable at any time, including because of maintenance, third-party dependency issues, store platform changes, or compliance updates.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The operator disclaims implied warranties to the extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free output.

The service depends on third-party providers and infrastructure, including AI providers, hosting, telecommunications, email providers, app stores, and billing platforms. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not responsible for third-party acts, omissions, outages, policy changes, pricing changes, payment failures, or platform restrictions outside the operator's reasonable control.

  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, use, data, or business opportunity.
  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for missed deadlines, filing failures, payment mistakes, translation errors, interpretation errors, or other outcomes caused by reliance on AI output, summaries, reminders, extracted text, or other service output.
  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount paid by you directly to the operator for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount that must be allowed under applicable law.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. For consumer users, mandatory local consumer rights still apply.

8. General legal terms

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.

A failure by the operator to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision or of any other rights.

The operator may assign or transfer these terms, or rights and obligations under them, as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction. Users may not assign their rights or obligations without the operator's prior written consent unless mandatory law says otherwise.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, any claim arising out of or relating to the service must be brought within 12 months after the facts giving rise to the claim became known or reasonably should have become known.

9. Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as the service evolves. Material changes should be communicated through the website, the app, or store listing notes as appropriate.

Questions about these terms, billing, support, or deletion requests should be sent to support@scan2summary.com unless a different published contact replaces it.

Terms summary

Important product rules: one analyzed page consumes one credit, analyses may be stored on the server, and the service is an aid for understanding documents rather than legal advice.
